Dextrus Prosoft Joins TRLabs

August 13, 2009 -- Calgary - Industry participation in TRLabs’ Associate network of start-up and growth phase high-tech companies across western Canada has reached 41 companies with the recent member signing of Dextrus Prosoft (Canada) Inc.

In addition to acquiring access to highly skilled graduate students and innovative new technologies produced by the TRLabs information and communications technology (ICT) research program, Dextrus Prosoft will pursue two technology development projects. The first project involves development of a table top energy consumption application targeted at mapping an electrical company’s relays and transformers. An interactive computer application aims to bring efficiency to maintenance scheduling and performance, replacing current paper-driven systems. A second project involves prototyping of a consumer traffic monitoring system.

"As a growing IT solutions company, we look to TRLabs to foster avenues of research and collaboration with other similar technology businesses to build and develop innovative technology solutions that otherwise would be hard to achieve," says Dextrus Prosoft CEO Manoj Khanna. "We look forward to this fruitful partnership, and anticipate our relationship growing on a yearly basis."

"TRLabs’ partnership with Dextrus Prosoft is an example of how TRLabs collaborates with industry to develop technologies that will enhance economic prosperity," says TRLabs VP Research Dr. Rainer Iraschko. "Dextrus Prosoft is interested in commercializing a table top energy consumption application, and the TRLabs pooled research program creates the academic and utility company links that raise prospects for success. The consumer traffic monitoring system project will involve TRLabs research staff, and is an example of our ability to undertake development projects as part of our new Industry Services line of business. We look forward to working with Dextrus Prosoft on both projects."
